Electrical Panel Upgrade in Maplewood
The subdivisions along the parkway went up in waves, and the panels went in with them. The earlier blocks still run 100-amp service that was plenty for a 1970s house and is stretched thin once you add an EV, a hot tub, and a finished basement. The houses near the center of town are older still, and some carry a fused panel or a brand later recalled as unsafe.
Maplewood is a 25-minute run from our Springfield shop, and panel work is one of our steadier calls here. Warning signs: breakers that trip when two big loads run together, a panel warm to the touch, scorch marks around a breaker, or no open slots left for the circuit you actually need.
What the Upgrade Includes
We pull the permit, coordinate the meter disconnect with the utility, and set a 200-amp service with a properly bonded neutral, a full ground, and labeled breakers (AFCI and GFCI where code requires them). The work gets inspected before the cover goes back on.
Pair it with whole-home surge protection at the panel, or feed a new EV charger circuit off the upgraded service. Full details are on our panel upgrade page, with everything local on the Maplewood hub.
