Outlets & Switches in Fairview
The two-prong outlets all over Fairview’s farmhouses are a daily reminder that the wiring behind them has no ground. People work around them with cheater plugs and power strips, which solves the shape of the plug and none of the safety. The mid-century homes near the school usually have three-prong outlets, but plenty were swapped in over ungrounded wiring, so the third hole goes nowhere.
We fix the real problem. Where a ground exists or can be run, we install grounded receptacles. In kitchens, baths, garages, and outdoors we add the GFCI protection code calls for, which trips on a fault long before a breaker would. We add outlets where rooms are short of them, so the power strips can retire.
Most jobs are small enough to skip a permit, and we’ll tell you when one is needed. If an outlet is warm, loose, or dead, that’s an outlet and switch repair call, and a panel with no room for new circuits points back to a panel upgrade. More is on our outlets and switches page, with everything local at Fairview.
