EV Charger Installation in Cedar Grove
The new builds going up on the acreage near the state forest tend to have the panel capacity for a car charger. The farmhouses along Cedar Creek Road usually do not, and that’s the first thing we check. A Level 2 charger pulls a steady 240 volts on a dedicated 40 or 50-amp circuit, and you cannot just hang that off a panel that’s already feeding the whole house through 100 amps without doing the load calculation first.
Summit Electric runs the charger circuit on its own breaker, mounts the unit where you actually park, and sizes the wire for the amperage your car draws rather than the bare minimum.
If the load calc says the panel is full, that’s a conversation about a panel upgrade before the charger goes in. We pull the permit and the install gets inspected, the same as any 240V circuit. The full process is on our EV charger installation page, with everything else on the Cedar Grove page.
